The Asus Eee Pad Transformer passed through our review with flying colours and even sold out in the UK but some owners have been plagued with power problems. The issue is around the keyboard dock which in some cases just isn’t charging the tablet.

But fear not, Asus says it’s got to the bottom of the problem and has promised a solution. What’s more, it’s getting ready to upgrade the mophing tablet machine to Android Honeycomb 3.2. Read on for all of Asus’ promises in full…

In a statement posted on its UK Facebook page, Asus explains what’s shaking with the Eee Pad Transformer power problems:

Apologies to anyone who has encountered issues with their Transformer keyboard dock (power drain and charging). The issue is related to the way we configured the device’s power maangement in/out of sleep mode. We will shortly be announcing details on how this will be resolved for our customers.

While that’s not exactly a definitive fix, it’s good to know Asus is responding to customer concerns. Meanwhile, over on its Twitter account, the company confirmed that it is currently testing Android 3.2 on the Transformer. Sadly, details there are vague too with Asus promising the update will be available “soon”.

Amazing isn’t it how Asus are happy enough to make statements on FB and Twitter but they almost never respond to questions, like “where on Earth are the spare charge cables?”

I sent mine back for a refund due to a few issues , the main one seems to be keyboard lag  and screen typing lag , especially in certain browsers. Made the experience very frustrating
