Long before Windows Phone 7 Mango bore fruit, Windows Mobile 6.5 phones like the HTC HD2 were left behind. But backslashsid, a member of the XDA-Developers forum, thought that was unfair and has managed to port the Windows Phone 7 Mango Beta 1 to the device.
Keeping up its recent more lenient attitude to hardware hackers, Microsoft spokesman Bill Cox told AllThingsD: “We say tinker away with Mango and enjoy the juice. But beware the fine print – unlocking phones may void your warranty.”
