Virgin Media has finally secured its long-rumoured deal with Spotify. The ISP has announced that it will be offering Spotify to customers via broadband, mobile and its digital TV service through its TiVO-powered set-top box.

Read on for the first details on the Virgin Media Spotify deal…

While it hasn’t outline specific details on how the new bundles with Spotify built-in will work, Virgin Media says customers will have a choice of options including the online-only Spotify Unlimited (which currently costs £4.99 per month) and the full-fat Spotify Premium tier (£9.99-a-month).

The Virgin Media statement confirms that it will have exclusive rights to offer Spotify via its TV service. It’s likely that Spotify streaming will be delivered through a dedicated app on the TiVO set top box. As our Virgin Media TiVO review shows we were pretty taken with it and the addition of Spotify is a big plus.

Virgin Media says its deal with Spotify will include exclusives and special offers for its customers with an exclusive signup window for current subscribers. Existing Spotify users who sign up for Virgin broadband will be able to keep their accounts and take advantage of the new bundles.

We’ll be chasing Virgin Media for more details but in the meantime jump into the comments and let us know what you make of the offer. Is the prospect of Spotify included with your broadband and TV package enough to lure you to Virgin Media?

Well, we just bought a tivo box, only because we wanted the spotify on it. We already have a full spotify subscription on our computers. And now that its all installed, its painfully slow, difficult to use, confusing and most disappointingly, there’s no spotify!!
