Singer, songwriter, model and DJ Sophie Ellis-Bextor may have another string to her already very twangy bow. In an interview with the Daily Mail the star made the rather bold claim that she was partly responsible for bringing the original iPod to market.

Does Sophie have previously-unmentioned electronics skills, or did she knock it up using her Blue Peter presenting mum’s supply of sticky-backed plastic & loo rolls? Find out after the jump.

Alas, Ms Ellis-Bextor’s involvement was a bit more minimal. A bit less ‘hands on’. No, she reckons that her first hit single (“Groovejet”, recorded with Spiller) was one of the test tracks that Apple used when developing the original iPod. “No one’s ever recognised my contribution to it in any way over at Apple,” reveals Sophie, “In fact, it’s only ever cost me money, because the whole house is full of Apple gear as a result.”

Other tech revelations from the feline singer include her addiction to shopping on eBay “”The possibilities are endless,”she claims) and the startling accusation that Microsoft founder Bill Gates has a “surreal” dancing style.

While DJing a private party with her husband, she spotted that gawky billionaire cutting a rug. “His dancing is unique. He does a kind of clap to the front and a clap to the back, and a shuffle.”

More news as it’s made.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor may accept addition cord to her already actual
twangy bow. In an account with the Daily Mail the brilliant fabricated
the rather adventurous affirmation that she was partly amenable for
bringing the aboriginal iPod to market.
