We’re at the stage in the iPhone 5 rumour cycle where the smallest of details are being debated. The latest focus for speculation if the iPhone 5 camera and whether it will arrive packing a dual-LED flash.
As is so often the case, the rumour is based on whispering among component makers in the Far East. While the iPhone 4 camera was a leap up from the iPhone 3GS, it’s still ripe for improvement and a dual flash for the iPhone 5 certainly definitely makes sense…
DigiTimes points to two Taiwanese LED suppliers, Everlight Electronics, Edison Opto and Lite-On Technology as potential suppliers for the iPhone 5 dual-LED flash. Its claims follow earlier reports that Apple has reduced orders of LED flash components from its current supplier Philips.
While DigiTimes has a patchy track record when it comes to Apple rumours, we’re willing to bet the iPhone 5 will pack an 8MP camera with an dual-LED flash when it finally emerges. While Apple hasn’t pushed itself to the front of the queue with camera specs, it won’t allow the iPhone to lag too far behind either.
