That faint sound you hear is Steve Jobs chuckling. A new BlackBerry PlayBook update is coming this week to fix another security Flash security issue. Adobe pushed out an update for Flash Player last week to deal with a nasty cross-site scripting vulnerability and the PlayBook needs to catch up.

Read on for details of how RIM is rushing the BlackBerry PlayBook OS update out to deal with the Flash issue…

Anyone who buys a BlackBerry PlayBook today will automatically be updated to the latest version of the OS during set up. Meanwhile, existing users will auomatically receive the update over-the-air or can manually check for a software update. RIM says no BlackBerry PlayBook users have been bitten by the Flash bug so far but recommends that all users should update the OS.

RIM is bringing the BlackBerry PlayBook to the UK this week (June 16). Hopefully we’ll get it with the BlackBerry PlayBook OS in a stable, relatively bug free form. Last month, RIM recalled 1,000 PlayBook tablets after they shipped with a faulty build of the OS.
