Apple has let quite a few rule breaking apps slip through the cracks of the iTunes App Store in the past (remember iDOS and the fake Mario?). If you grab a banned app before Apple pulls the plug, you can keep it.
But until now, you haven’t been able to download contraband apps again if you lose or delete them. But that’s changed in the version of iCloud currently in the hands of developers…
With iCloud, you can see every app you’ve bought from the App Store and grab them again, even if you’ve deleted them from your phone. That list includes banned apps and you can download them again.
The ability to resurrect apps on your phone that have since been banished from the App Store seems like an oversight by Apple. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the loophole plugged before iOS 5 reaches the rest of us.
So if you’re rocking a stash of iPhone apps that were binned for breaking Apple’s rules, you’d best continue to be careful with them.
