Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo were not the only big players making moves at E3 this week. Sony Ericsson quietly announced the Xperia Play Experience Pack, a sweet little bundle which includes the DK300 multimedia dock, a pocket USB cable, a music cable to connect the dock to your audio system and the possibility of downloading three free games from Gameloft.
As the first PlayStation Certified Android smartphone, the Xperia Play has a long way to go before transforming Android gaming like we had hoped. However, the Xperia Play Experience Pack is a step in the right direction, offering your choice of any three titles from the following list:
Assassin’s Creed – Altair’s Chronicles, Uno, Real Football 2011, Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, Let’s Golf! 2, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front, N.O.V.A. 2 – Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance or Eternal Legacy.
The game will be dowloaded using the QR-code included within the packaging or by using the url listed on the voucher along with an activation code. If you haven’t picked up the DK300 multimedia dock yet, this could be the perfect opportunity — let’s just hope the price is right. Release date and pricing information have yet to be announced.
