Another day in the bay area, another day of driving. Ubisoft’s latest racing title, Driver San Francisco, looks poised to battle it out with Need for Speed: The Run for your racing dollar. We’ve got your in-game footage to get you pumped for the August 30th release date.
The demo showcased at E3 this afternoon confirmed what we knew all along — Driver San Francisco is all about American muscle. We’ve seen the Shelby Cobra outed on the Driver Facebook page as a Gamestop pre-order exclusive, but now we know it’ll be joined by a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 2006 Dodger Ram SRT-10, 1970 Dodger Challenger R/T, 1969 Dodge Charger R/T, 1981 DeLoreaon DMC-12, 1967 Shelby GT500 and a handful of other top-end machines.
The game play footage looks promising, but when it comes to racing games it’s all in the controls. The out-of-car element to the new Need for Speed title looks promising, but whether or not that’s simply a means of distraction is yet to be determined.
