Nintendo will unveil the Nintendo Wii successor at E3 on Tuesday and debate about its name is still raging.

The accepted codename for the reportedly touch-friendly Wii refresh is Project Cafe but various names have been punted around as the official title. The latest is truly bizarre…

We’ve been alternating between the Wii 2 and Wii HD as potential names for the Wii follow up while others have gone for the Nintendo Stream based on rumors that the console will stream information to touchscreen-enabled controllers.

However, Game Informer has run with a wild rumor that Nintendo will call its next-generation console one word…Nintendo. At first glance the suggestion seems like utter madness but remember when we all made toilet-humour-tinged gags about calling a console, the Wii?

Could Nintendo really go all out and call the console Nintendo? Or is this just pre-E3 madness? Tell us your pick for the next Nintendo console name and place your bets in the comments now. We’re just hoping it’s not called the Wii Stream…

Meh, more than likely another cheap and cheerful (but lacklustre) console by Nintendo, sold to idiotic consumers by telling them they can’t have one because they are out of stock everywhere.
