Modern Warfare 3! Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling took to the E3 stage to show off the first proper gameplay glimpse of the latest in the war-shooter series. Did it impress? Heck yeah.
The footage kicked off with an underwater mission of sorts where the player uses an underwater sonar to detect mines and navigate the watery murky depths, no doubt underneath some dodgy enemy stronghold, before placing a mine on an enemy submarine and resurfacing above land in a New York City obliterated by enemy attack.
The graphics look familiar, but appear to be much more polished this time around, whatever any doubts there were about the game engine beforehand. Modern Warfare 3, on this evidence is looking great.
The demo continued with a foray into an enemy sub before commandeering a speedboat, bobbing between opposing ships, dodging missile fire from above – a clear assault on the vehicle sections sure to be seen in Battlefield 3.
