We know Steve Jobs is taking to the stage at WWDC later today to talk iCloud. But he already discussed it once before at WWDC in 1997. Click through to see Jobs on truly prophetic form…

Asked by an audience member to outline his vision for the future of computing, Jobs described his own work network that allowed him to grab his stuff at Apple, Next or Pixar via the cloud. It seems like the iPad before it, iCloud has been on Steve Jobs’ mind for a long time.

Starting a 13:10 in the video above, Jobs outlines the early dream of iCloud: “One of the things I’m really excited about is to look at that personal computer and take out every moving part apart from the keyboard and mouse. I don’t need a hard disk in my computer if I can get to the server faster…” Fourteen years on, is he about to make that dream a reality?
