Cats are beguiled by the iPad screen but batting at Angry Birds with their paw won’t get them very far. But pet food maker Friskies has created a set of three HTML5 iPad games built specifically for feline Apple fans: Cat Fishing, Party Mix Up and Tasty Treasures Hunt.

All three games feature bright shapes moving around in just the right way to lure a moggy’s attention and graphics that respond to paw touches. You can see tech kitties at play in the video after the break and get the link to the games there too. We’d love to see what your cat makes of them.

UPDATE: Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft Pocket Edition will hit the the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play before any other phone, taking advantage of its controls. No release date just yet, sadly.

Sony Ericsson has sent out an invite to its Xperia Play party at E3 and it seems to be riffing heavily on imagery from Minecraft. There’s a blocky background and a small pick mining pixellated minerals plus a rather heavy-handed Minecraft reference in the headline: “Stay in the light and take refuge with Sony Ericsson to keep the creepers at bay”…

Straight from the file marked “Barking Mad Plans” comes this tale of Sony considering a PlayStation Move dock for the PSP. A recently uncovered patent, filed back in November 2009, shows a peripheral for the PSP with a built-in camera to use PlayStation Move controllers with the docked device. Do these plans still have any life in them?
