Even some of the most ardent iPhone and iPad 2 lovers hate iOS notifications. They’re among the biggest bug bears for Apple fans and something that must surely be at the top of the list for an overhaul in iOS 5.

We’ve seen lots of iOS notification concepts in the past but none that really tapped into Apple’s current design style effectively. Microsoft is being a bit shy about revealing more official Windows 8 details but luckily there’s tonnes of leaks to feast on. The latest reveals yet more clues about the Windows 8 app store including a new logo which you can see on the right and lots of details lurking in code. Unlike the Mac App Store, it looks like the Windows 8 app store will include the ability to download a tiral app and then unlock a full version.

The latest Windows 8 leak also reveals new cloud settings which would allow you take your desktop profile from one computer to another and sync apps from the Windows 8 app store between PCs. Intel could build the next incarnation of the chip powering the iPad 2 and iPhone according to a juicy new rumour doing the rounds. Samsung currently makes the A5 processor but given the current legal dispute between Apple and other parts of the Samsung empire, speculation is growing that it will lose the contract.

Intel currently makes the processors inside the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac and Mac Pro and Mac Mini lines but it’s ARM processors powering iPods, the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Could that be about to change?

iTunes haters rejoice! Spotify is about to take on Apple’s jukebox software with its next update which will sync tracks from your computer to your iPod, iPhone or Android phone.

In a move that is bound to irritate Apple, Spotify is also unveiling a music store with bundles of MP3s on offer. A bundle of 10 tracks will set you back £7.99 (just under 80p per song) while a bundle of 100 will cost £50 (50p per song, undercutting iTunes).
