Everyone needs a mobile, so it’s not surprising that blowers feature heavily in Hollywood movies, with the likes of the Nokia spending mad dough to get their phones in front of eyeballs all around the world. But which are the best? We’ve chosen the finest appearances from smartphones over the last two decades – the devices that actually help move the story along, not just buzz and look hip.
It’s often said that Apple doesn’t do market research. A New York Times piece from March this year reported Steve Jobs‘ response to what consumer and market research Apple does as: “None, it isn’t the customers’ job to know what they want.”
But it appears that Apple has begun a new campaign to test the waters with select customers through regular surveys. AppleInsider reports that customers have received emails asking them to complete a survey on what Apple products they own then inviting them to become members of the Apple Customer Pulse group…

Apple has snapped up Tomlinson Holman, the inventor of THX, to head up its audio projects. The news was revealed by podcasting king and “president of the Internet” Leo Laporte who tweeted:

Facebook is eyeing Skype with the intention of either buying the company outright or developing a joint venture, according to sources quoted by Reuters.
