LG is cock-a-hoop – it has just announced that the wildly popular (and soon to be made into a film) Angry Birds Rio will come pre-loaded on all LG phones.

The roll-out starts with the Canadian version of the Optimus 2X. Yong-seok Jang, VP of Business Strategy at LG’s mobile arm, said: “Angry Birds Rio will help showcase the power, smoothness and speed of LG’s Optimus series of Android smartphones to our customers.”

Android fragmentation has been a stick that iOS lovers beat Google fans with for sometime. They crow that the relentless onward rush of sweetly-named Android versions means you always run the risk of being left adrift. For many, Android updates have been like those offers that give new customers loads of cool stuff and leave loyal types to lose out.

But now Google says it’s going to marshall the phone makers and fix the problem. Smooshing together, Android Gingerbread and Android Honeycomb in Android Ice Cream Sandwich, it’ll have a unified OS. But an end to fragmentation? I don’t think so…

It’s easy to see the LG Optimus Black as something of an anti-climax after the South Korean phone peddler snatched the world record for the first dual-core phone with the LG Optimus 2X. After all, it’s powered by a single core, can’t shoot in full HD, and lacks the 2X’ HDMI output skills.

Topshop has set up an augmented reality fitting room in its Moscow flagship store using Kinect to let shoppers try on clothes without needing to shuck off their current outfit in a small, sweaty fitting room.

The Kinect camera recognises when a person is standing in front of it and superimposes 3D models of the clothes they’re interested in. You switch between outfits with simple Kinect gestures. The 3D fitting isn’t perfect yet but we’d still love to see a version of this AR fitting room hit UK stores. Take a look for yourself after the jump…

The anger of PlayStation Network users left locked out will continue to simmer with Sony saying it can’t give a timeline for when the service will come back online. In a new statement on the PlayStation blog, Sony spokesman Patrick Seybold says: “I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored.
