We’ve been waiting patiently for BlackBerry PlayBook UK launch details, and at long last we’ve got them. RIM’s seven inch tablet is going on sale on 16 June at Phones4u and Carphone Warehouse, with the 16GB Wi-Fi only model ringing up £399.95 on the till, making it a direct match for the entry level iPad 2. The 32GB version costs £479, while the 64GB Wi-Fi model meanwhile will set you back a much more hefty £559.95. All models are up for pre-order now.
UPDATE: Currys and PC World stores as well as Insight UK will stock the BlackBerry PlayBook on the same date too, we’ve heard.

That much rumoured Amazon Android tablet is back on the rumour mill but the latest word is that we can expect not one but two tablets. Boy Genius Reports claims a loose-lipped tipster at Amazon says we’ll see an entry-level Tegra 2 tablet codenamed “Coyote” and a quad-core beast with the codename “Hollywood”.
That more powerful device will apparently rock the Superman-referencing, NVIDIA T30 “Kal-El” processor. There’s no news on other specs yet so we’ll just have to imagine what Amazon might be cooking up. This Thursday, May 19th is Apple’s 10th retail anniversary and with it may come the launch of a new (or improved) product. The Android 3.1 update rollout currently underway promises performance improvements, browser stability, new USB device support and Movies. Unfortunately, owners of the Motorola Xoom WiFi edition are reporting the Movies tab is not available inside the Android Market. It appears Verizon Wireless customers with their 3G variant will be receiving the royal treatment this time around.
