Joining the HTC Thunderbolt and Droid Charge as the third 4G LTE Android smartphone to grace the Verizon’s line up will be the LG Revolution, tomorrow May 26. Priced at $249 (£154) on 2-year contract, the Revolution runs Android 2.2 Froyo and features a Super AMOLED Plus display like our current favorite, the Samsung Galaxy S 2.
We first met the LG Revolution way back in January at CES in Las Vegas. At the time, the idea of a 4G LTE smartphone melted our tech-loving hearts with its 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor, 5-megapixel camera (1.3-megapixel front-facing camera), and 4.3-inch WVGA display. The unfortunate twist is that now, four months later, the Revolution still ships with Android 2.2 Froyo. With our trusty Nexus S receiving Android 2.3.4 this month, we can’t help but feel jealous.
Other highlights of the LG Revolution include HDMI output and WiFi mobile hotspot. Keep a lookout for the smartphone both in stores and online starting tomorrow.
