As well as giving the graphics a good going over, Sony says titles in the PlayStation Portable Remaster Series will feature multiplayer compatibility so you’ll be able to play them on PSP using the Ad Hoc multiplayer feature. The new versions will also work on both PSP and PS3 so you can take the same campaign between them.

The first game to make the leap from PSP to PS3 is Monster Hunter Portable 3rd which is getting a re-release in Japan this summer. Sony’s promising more announcements imminently and it’s a safe bet that we’ll hear about an international rollout at E3 next month.

We’d love to see Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and the PSP God of War games stuck into the mix but what PSP games do you want to see make the jump?

I really am a bit torn on this. On one hand it’s just shameless reselling of old games but there are a good few PSP games I’d like to play on the big screen, so I’m reluctantly pleased about it.
