Activision is being surprisingly philosophical about the Modern Warfare 3 leak that emerged last week. It kicked out some Modern Warfare 3 trailers in response to the major info dump and now Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg says you shouldn’t believe every detail…

Hirshberg says: “Friday was really interesting, really a kind of cool day. And while it’s definitely not cool to steal other people’s intellectual property and while it’s definitely not cool to leak stuff that’s not yours, there are ways that you can respond that actually turn lemons into lemonade”

On the subject of releasing Modern Warfare 3 trailers early, Hirshberg explains: “If there’s gonna be a dialogue about our game, we want it to be between us and our fans and not between leakers and our fans.”

He also suggests that some of the details in the leak were wide of the mark: “[The source] clearly had deep access but not everything that was leaked is accurate.” Looks like we’ll have to wait for E3 for more genuine Modern Warfare 3 details.
