While Google TV has still not touched down in the UK, it’s set for a serious update with an Android Honeycomb 3.1-based overhaul and Android Marketplace support. Read on for full details on the revitalised Google TV and continue to feel slightly irked that Google hasn’t given it to us yet…
The Android Markeplace support is the big announcement. When it launches later in the summer, Google will be encouraging developers to make multi-screen apps which run on your Android Honeycomb tablet and Google TV simultanously. It’s Google’s plan to make Google TV stand out and it could well work, especially as the search giant is promising a new “simplified” UI.
The move to Android Honeycomb will also put Google TV in line to get the Google Music and Google Movies support just like the rest of the Android device family. Now all Google need to do is get Google TV shipping to the UK and open up Google Music and Google Movies to Brits!
