It looks like Chrome OS may finally be polished enough to get its big public unveiling on a consumer device. Sure we had the Google CR-48 last year but we’re still waiting for a Chrome OS product from one of the big brands. Now Samsung has invited tech journalists to an event on Wednesday 11 May just after Google I/O comes to a close…
The invite features absolutely no details besides the date, location and a tease saying: “We wish we could tell you the details now but that wouldn’t be any fun.” The timing and location make it highly likely that Samsung, which has been on the list of Google Chrome OS hardware partners since it broke cover, will finally out it’s Chrome OS netbook.
The question is: in a world of compelling Android Honeycomb tablets, the BlackBerry PlayBook and iPad 2, do you still care?
