Microsoft founder Paul Allen releases his memoir tomorrow and he’s gunning for Bill Gates. He says: “I just felt it was like an important part of technology history and I should tell it like it happened.” He talks about the period after he was diagnosed with cancer when he claims he overheard Gates, his best friend and co-founder, complaining that he was “unproductive” to now Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. Square, the mobile payments company founded by Twitter’s Jack Dorsey, has scored a real win – placement in the Apple Store. Apple is now selling the Square hardware which hooks into an iPhone/iPod touch and lets anyone process and manage credit card payments.

The Square device is the only payments product featured in US Apple stores. It’s selling for $9.95 but users get $10 of credit when they sign up for an account and the apps are free.

The unnamed Toshiba Android Honeycomb tablet has got a moniker. At least, that’s if a selection of Newegg product listings is correct. Wait for it…Toshiba’s Android Honeycomb tablet will be called: the ANT. Yep, it’s going for a kind of insecty vibe. The Toshiba Android Honeycomb tablet will be available in three configurations if the listings are right with the ANT-100 (8GB), ANT-102 (16GB) and ANT-104 (32GB).

All the models will be iPad 2-fighting 10.1in tablets with a 1280×800 resolution screen. No release date of UK pricing has been outed yet but the ANT looks like it’ll start at $449.99 in the US. Sound good to you? Hit the comments and let us know.
