Apple Sues SamsungJump start the work week with the best in tech news, a little diddy we call the US Update. Breaking cover on the other side of the pond this morning is a lawsuit filed by Apple which threatens Samsung smartphones and tablets. We take a look at the Xperia Arc availability on O2 and then give you an update on the Asus Eee Pad Transformer inventory situation. This and more on today’s US Update.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple has sued Samsung for allegedly copying “the look and feel” of its iPad tablet and iPhone smartphone. With the strong resemblance between the Galaxy S 4G and the previous generation iPhone 3GS, there’s certainly merit for the claim. Despite the lawsuit, Cnet is reporting the Samsung will offer a dual-core 2GHz Exynos by early next year. With 2GHz+ solutions in the pipe for Qualcomm and TI, 2012 is shaping up to be the year of speed in mobile.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc: Up close with the world’s thinnest Android phone

O2 is now selling the Xperia Arc, free on £27.00 per month plans (24 month contract required). With the award winning Exmor R sensor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread, this could be the perfect time to welcome Sony back to the Android winners circle. Microsoft has released a free app which lets you capture 360 degree panorama photos, dubbed PhotoSynth. Following in the success of Bing for iPad, PhotoSynth looks to be an equally impressive app for the photo-centric iOS users in attendance.

Last up this morning is an update on the Asus Eee Pad Transformer inventory for the UK. According to Asus, all inventory is sold out after “initial demand for the Eee Pad Transformer has been far beyond our expectations.” The next batch of units was expected to land in late April or early May, but that is in question now that Asus will be adding some additional testing procedures to the manufacturing process. That wraps up the latest and greatest in tech news. As always I’m Nick Marshall and I’ll see you again tomorrow.
