Microsoft is holding its thrilling sounding Professional Developers Conference from September 13 to September 16. That wouldn’t necessarily raise anyone’s pulse rate but rumours are now rattling around that Windows 8 will be officially unveiled at the event, kicking off Microsoft’s latest attempt to battle the arsenal of Android Honeycomb tablets and, of course, the iPad 2.
Launching Windows 8 in September would likely mean that the new OS would start shipping in early 2012. The report is just a rumour but it would certainly make sense for Microsoft to get Windows 8 out into the world as soon as possible.
