Oh sure, RIM has a Blackberry Bold with a touchscreen in the pipeline at long last, but it looks as though the Nokia E6 has it beat. It’s the slick, finger friendly Nokia E72 upgrade we saw leaked last month, and we’ve got all the details on it live from Nokia’s launch event today.

The Nokia E6 doesn’t appear to have undergone any changes when it comes to the keyboard – after all, that was what kept the Nokia E72 in our best Nokia phone list until more than 18 months after launch – but it’s had a much needed screen boost. The 2.46-inch TFT screen is now touch friendly, with a boosted resolution, up to an extremely sharp 640×480, while the camera shoots up to 8MP stills – there’s 8GB of storage on board to keep all your clips on, alongside the space on your microSD card.

This phone’s meant to be a business phone first and foremost though: Nokia claims it has a standby time of up to a month, but with BlackBerry Messenger apparently headed to every platform but Symbian, is that reason to slap down for one? We’re not sure – we’re off to get hands on with one to find out so stay tuned.

It looks disgusting and hideous compared to the E72 or a Blackberry
