The HTC ChaCha is a super-powered smartphone with a hidden identity. By day it’s a compact Android handset with a physical QWERTY keyboard, capable of texting, emailing and using apps like any other state of the art Android handset. In the blink of an eye, though, it can transform into an all-singing, all-dancing social superphone.

How does the HTC ChaCha access these wonderful abilities? Those with superior powers of observation will have noticed one feature that stands out from the phone’s understated fascia. What’s that down on its chin? Is it bug? Is it a camera? No, it’s… a Facebook button! Read on, and we’ll explain just how it works.

The HTC ChaCha’s Facebook button will perceptively flash when you can make use of its services, like the handset has some kind of in-built sixth sense. If that sounds like it could be a little annoying, you needn’t worry – it’s a subtle blue pulse that serves as a gentle reminder rather than an insistent command.

Dropping the ‘F’ bomb
The magical ‘F’ button showcases the HTC ChaCha’s super-vision, too. When you take a picture or shoot a video with the HTC ChaCha’s 5-megapixel camera, you’ll be able to press the blue button to instantly share your content with your Facebook buddies.

That’s not the extent of the Facebook button’s social powers, either. Say you’re browsing the internet on the HTC ChaCha’s compact 2.6-inch touchscreen and you see something you want to share with your fellow Facebook users. You can simply hit the ‘F’ button (which will be glowing in anticipation of your command) to paste the link on your Facebook wall. Clever, huh?

Did you know the HTC ChaCha has super hearing, too? If you’re listening to a sonic boom of a music track (courtesy of the HTC ChaCha’s 3.5 mm headphone jack) and you’d like to share it with your friends, simply hit the Facebook button to post it on your Facebook wall.

Spatial awareness
Knowing exactly where you are in the world might not sound like a particularly super power, but when you go hands-on with the HTC ChaCha you’ll think differently. Press and hold the ‘F’ button, and the handset will check into Facebook Places.

Facebook Places lets you make use of the HTC ChaCha’s in-built GPS powers to keep your friends up to date on your locations. You can tag the friends you’re with, and check out any friends that are close to you (just tap “Here Now” to see who else is checked in nearby).

It doesn’t end there – thanks to the HTC ChaCha’s shortcut to Facebook Places, you can quickly check in to discover local deals at your favourite restaurants, retailers and entertainment venues – and then share them with your friends. Just look for the distinctive deal logo.

Social skills
The Facebook Button is the HTC ChaCha’s secret weapon and the source of its power all rolled into one. With it you can sign into and post content to your Facebook account quicker and easier than on any other device.

What’s more, you can do so from any area of the main Android operating system. Whether you’re listening to music, browsing the web, viewing videos or taking pictures, you’re only ever a button press away from your social network lifeline.

Remember: with such great power comes the great responsibility to share. With the HTC ChaCha and its Facebook Button, the sky’s the limit when it comes to keeping your friends up to date on all the latest news.
