If Android handsets are the superheroes of the smartphone world, then the HTC ChaCha is the paranormally perceptive know-it-all of the group. Using its uncanny powers of communication, you can read the thoughts of your friends and even project your own musings into their brains, quick as you like and all at the touch of a button.

This is made possible thanks to the HTC ChaCha’s unique capabilities. For one thing, its expertly configured physical QWERTY keyboard is always on hand to let you make lightning-fast Twitter updates. Then of course there’s HTC Sense, which brings all your friends and followers’ thoughts to your home screen and address book. Read on and discover how it leaves other smartphones looking distinctly mortal in its wake.

Friendly alter-ego
The source of the HTC ChaCha’s powers is a mysterious glowing emblem on its heroic chest. Like Superman’s ‘S,’ the HTC ChaCha’s proudly worn ‘F’ tells you everything you need to know about this petite Gingerbread handset.

‘F’ stands for Facebook, the social network phenomenon around which the HTC ChaCha is built. Hit the F-button at any time and your Android phone will miraculously shed its mild mannered Android phone alter-ego to become an all-action Facebook phone. With a single touch of this contextual button you can share pictures, videos, web links, music and more via your Facebook profile.

My HTC Sense is tingling
Naturally, being an HTC phone the ChaCha also benefits from the super-powered HTC Sense interface. Layered on top of the world-conquering Android Gingerbread operating system, it serves to streamline everyday functions and to pull in all of your separate social network details and contacts.

HTC Sense automatically integrates your Facebook contacts into your contacts list, known here as “People”. It’ll even update you with the personal information for your contacts when they call, informing you of their birthday and showing you any Facebook or Twitter status updates.

In effect, HTC ChaCha with HTC Sense lets you read your contacts’ minds and pre-empt what they’re likely to say, rescuing beleaguered conversations and combating the evils of missed trending topics.

HTC ChaCha and its super-powered Friend Stream
One thing any superhero worth their salt needs to be able to do is juggle multiple lives. The HTC ChaCha achieves this thanks to the HTC Sense Friend Stream tool, which unifies your Facebook and Twitter lives into a single all-encompassing feed. It even grants you the quite frankly superhuman ability to post to both social network accounts simultaneously with just the one text input.

Just tap on the “What’s on your mind?” field and type away; then it’s just a matter of ticking which social network you want to post to. Want to attach a picture to your post? No problem – select it, and it’ll appear on both your Twitter and Facebook accounts. There’s no struggling with dual identities here, we can assure you.

What’s more, just tap on a contact in Friend Stream and you’ll not only be able to view their Facebook wall and catch up on all their tweets, you’ll also be able to view their personal details – including their interests and the aforementioned birthday info.

Hero’s send-off
The HTC ChaCha is a truly heroic handset, eschewing the raw brawn and flashy costumes of some of its teammates in favour of more cerebral powers. It can help you read the thoughts and intentions of your Facebook contacts, and lets you react to hot topics with superhuman speed.

It handles multiple social network identities with ease, letting you get on with the business of living your own life without having to endlessly check your phone.

The HTC ChaCha may not save the day, but it will save you a whole heap of time and aggravation in the age of the social network.
