Look here, it’s a cool hack that isn’t a Kinect hack! Over on Kickstarter, Tim Soo and pals have put together an iPhone and a Wiimote to create the Invisible Instrument, a controller that pairs with your computer via Bluetooth and works with software including GarageBand, Logic, ProTools and Ableton Live.

So far the Invisible Instrument can control a virtual instruments including a drum kit, violin, cello, bass, keyboard, guitar, theremin and act as a conductor’s baton. Soo and the gangt plan to add wind and brass instruments, harmonica and harp to the repetoire. You can check out the Invisible Instrument in action after the break…

I see the control of two directions along one axis and two positions in two dimensions. That is six instead of twelve variables, which means three notes, plus a background loop, instead of six. applications for the iPhone and the Theremin also have fewer variables to work.

It is very obvious that we will definitely have instruments which would be accessible remotely and very easy to learn and also to play because technology never stops.
