Get your Dell Streak 7 this April for £299Dell’s seven inch tablet, the Dell Streak 7, will hit the UK by the end of April. According to the press release, the Streak 7 will be sold directly on Dell’s UK website for £299, including VAT and shipping. Powered by Android 2.2 and the custom Stage UI software UI overlay, this might be the Tegra 2-powered tablet you’ve been waiting for.

Let’s recap the Dell Streak 7. There’s a Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor under the hood, WiFi, 3G, and a 7-inch 800 x 480 resolution touchscreen display. The two biggest hurdles in its way will be Android 2.2 and the screen resolution. Since Android software updates are hard to come by these days, the combination of Android 2.2 and the Stage UI could prove challenging.

On the plus side, the price is right. The £299 price tag is certainly easier to swallow than the iPad 2 at £429. If you’re in the market for an ultra-portable tablet that offers dual-core processing power, keep your eyes peeled to Dell’s UK website — they’ve promised to have this bad boy shipping by month’s end.
