Right now, Instagram is a phenomenon on iPhone but now a new service, Instaprint, is using the Instagram API to turn snaps from the app into physical Polaroid-style photos.

Instaprint uses a modified Polaroid Zink photo printer to spit out photos tagged with a particular hashtag. The company is planning to rent Instaprint boxes to events and will be demoing the service during SXSWi if you happen to be hanging out in Austin Texas. It’s a seriously cool way to make photos that usually only exist in the cloud real. Hit the link below to see it in action.

Microsoft has been talking up Windows Phone 7 and Kinect a lot recently but Zune? Zune has been stuck in the corner relatively unloved. That may be set to change.

ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley spotted that Microsoft is employing staff for a cloud-based music and video project dubbed Ventura. Job postings describe the Ventura project as a “tight group of music and video lovers that create services and experiences revolving around music/video discovery and consumption”.

One of the big complaints about Kinect has been a lack of more full-on games but Microsoft has promised that’s set to change. At the firm’s spring showcase, senior producer Kevin Unangst said a whole raft of new Kinect games are on the way: “There are many [hardcore games] coming. This is sort of scratching the surface of what’s happening but we’ve got Child of Eden here today, we’ve got Twisted Pixel’s Gunstringer…and certainly you’re going to see more.”
