On the cusp of the latest installment of Mortal Kombat, serious news has been issued regarding Warner Bros. Interactive titles. The company has confirmed a deal to license Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 until 2014. This means that Rocksteady, the developer of Batman: Arkham Asylum, and NetherRealm, Mortal Kombat’s studio, will be using the engine exclusively for the next three years.

T-Mobile UK is pulling in the anchor and setting course for Android Utopia. The carrier updated its coming soon section of its website and now lists the LG Optimus Black, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, HTC Desire S and Motorola Atrix as coming soon. The latter of the five devices is certainly the highlight and all signs point to a June 2011 release.

Those iPhone 5 NFC rumours are back after recent reports that contactless payment tech wouldn’t make it into Apple’s next smartphone. Forbes blogger Elizabeth Woyke has contradicted claims by The Independent that iPhone 5 NFC tech is just a pipe dream. In a study conducted by Blaze, a company specializing in website optimization, Android 2.3 proved to be 52 percent faster than the Safari browser in iOS 4.3 on the iPhone 4. You’d be safe to assume Apple would fire back with its own take on the study, claiming the test was faulty due to a “flaw in Blaze Software’s methodology”.
