Good afternoon! There’s T-Minus a couple of hours until the iPad 2 goes on sale in the UK at 5pm, and as you can see from the lengthy queue outside Apple’s flagship Covent Garden London store today, you may not have much luck snagging one there and then. Apple’s online store is already a no go too: orders went live at 1am, and dispatch time is now a lengthy 3-4 weeks.

Do your eyes deceive? No good sir/madam, they do not. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Sony’s flagship Android phone of 2009 (and 2010) is officially getting an update to the latest build of Google’s operating system for mobiles, Android 2.3 “Gingerbread”.
Before you pull out the party poppers though, know that Sony Ericsson is already doing damage control, going on record to warn users that “some of you may not get this upgrade.” Hmm.

It seems Square Enix is getting serious about iPhone, iPad and Android development with a brand new studio called Hippos Lab which is dedicated entirely to developing games for mobile platforms.
Hippos Lab kicked off on March 7 and has been working on a title since then with a release due soon. Square Enix has had plenty of success in the iTunes App Store with Final Fantasy titles and their real-time strategy title Sliding Heroes. There’s also lots of price cuts on Square Enix titles in the App Store right now which is good news for Final Fantasy fans.

Sure Google Music has been on the cards for a couple of years but new reports says Google has begun internal testing and is gunning to get the streaming service out to consumers before Apple can out any iTunes cloud service.
Earlier this month, a member of the XDA Developers forum claim to have discovered Google Music lurking within Android Honeycomb and it looks like they were telling the truth.
