With iPlayer-style search and navigation, and over 150 stations and counting, Radioplayer is a dream come true for anyone who likes radio on their desktop. And it’s live right now!
Backed by the BBC, Radioplayer currently has 157 stations to search by name, presenter, location, programme, or interest. The player itself is embedded into each station’s website as a pop-up window, with the BBC’s stations playing via iPlayer (though still with Radioplayer branding in the corner). You can listen live or catch up on missed shows, and while it’s only online at the moment, apps for iPhone and iPad are expected before the end of the year.
More stations like Talksport and those from media giant Bauer’s stable will join later this week, bringing the total to 228. It may also appear on YouView, when it launches next February (providing it’s not beset by more delays).
We’ve been having a play and are impressed how simple it is to use, with accurate and quick search results. Give it a look and let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
