Amazon outed Amazon Cloud Drive and Amazon Cloud Player overnight, bringing cloud music streaming and storage to Amazon users way ahead of an iTunes Cloud service or Google Music.

There’s no word on a UK version of Amazon Cloud Drive but the US system looks intriguing. The new Amazon Cloud Player adds a “Save to Amazon Cloud Drive” button for saving MP3s and gives you the option to throw music from your hard drive up into the cloud.

Your initial Amazon Cloud Drive weighs in at 5GB but snapping up an album via Amazon will add an extra 20GB. More storage costs $1 per GB.

The Amazon Cloud Player for listening to the contents of your Amazon Cloud Drive comes in two forms web and an Android app. Curiously, Amazon seems to have blocked mobile Safari from accessing the web player. We’ll nudge Amazon.co.uk today and ask them when we might see this coming our way.
