Let’s be honest, iOS rumours are a crap shoot. The latest iOS 5 whisper is that Apple will drop the next major update of the OS for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch in Autumn this year rather than in Spring as is usually the case. TechCrunch is the rumour mill making the claims and predicts that iOS 5 will feature a variety of long-awaited upgrades. Hop through to see its predictions/wishlist…
If the rumour is true (and who knows if it will be), iOS 5 will include:
- A new ‘music locker’ service (potentially tied in with MobileMe) and timed to coincide with the annual iPod refresh in September.
- A cloud-based location service focused on friends and family
- A wide variety of other cloud-based features baked into the OS
- Major integration with OS X Lion
If Apple does drop iOS 5 later than we’d normally expect then we’re likely to see a preview at WWDC in June along with iPhone 5.
