Sure Google Music has been on the cards for a couple of years but new reports says Google has begun internal testing and is gunning to get the streaming service out to consumers before Apple can out any iTunes cloud service.

Earlier this month, a member of the XDA Developers forum claim to have discovered Google Music lurking within Android Honeycomb and it looks like they were telling the truth.

Google execs have been chatting up the big four record companies for months and are after not just rights to songs bought from the Google Music Store but the ability to throw all your music up into the cloud. Google Music has been trailed as launching numerous time over the past few months but with Google I/O hitting in May, that seems like a grand time for it to break cover and outpace iTunes which seems unlikely to out an iTunes cloud service until new iPods hit in September.
