Apple has just announced iPad 2 UK pricing for launch on Friday at 5pm, and to our surprise it’s actually lower than the original iPad’s launch price of £429 for the base model. The Wi-Fi only 16GB iPad 2 will cost £399 with tax factored in, with the 32GB and 64GB models coming in at £479 and £559 respectively. As before, nabbing a model with 3G and GPS built in will set you back an extra £100.

Frankly, that’s all the excuse you need to buy a Smart Cover with your iPad 2. If you caught our review last week, you’ll know we were completely smitten with both the slate and the magnetic cover, which starts at £35. Will you be queuing up come Friday though? Jump through past the break to hit the comments and let us know.

With pricing like that, I am definitely getting one. I am just not the queuing type, so I have to hope I can grab one online.

Can’t wait but I still want to know if it’ll be a 9am or 5pm launch like the states. Anyone have any ideas?

5pm. Will update the story to reflect that, thanks for the ask!

        And online sales?

Looks like 1am. Don’t really get the need for 5pm rather than 9am but I’ll be there anyway :)
