Apple approved an iPhone app from a Christian group called Exodus International in February but the app has started to hit headlines after a campaign highlighting that it’s aim is to tell gay people they can be “free from homosexuality”. Apple has yet to comment on the approval but a concerted campaign to negatively review the app is in progress…

So far the app, also called Exodus International, has racked up 111 one star reviews (Apple does not allow zero star reviews) with just 9 five star reviews. The app is rated 4+ which means Apple’s reviewers deemed it to “contain no objectionable content”. 78,337 names on a Change.org petition against the app suggest that rating might be a little off.

In December, Apple removed an anti-gay marriage app from the iTunes App Store after previously approving it. Exodus International says it has not had any direct contact with Apple about its app. Let us know in the comments: should Apple have approved this app?
