Seagate SSDs, Mass Effect 2, Sidekick 4G: US UpdateStarting off your day right, it’s time for your US Update. Today we break headlines with the new enterprise Seagate SSDs, take a look at the first two Mass Effect 2 DLC screenshots, jump into news on the new Sidekick 4G by Samsung and more.

Seagate is going all in with a push for solid-state drives this year. The company announced their 2011 line up this morning and 2.5-drives flooded the coverage. It looks like SSD is now the go-to option for consumers and enterprise users alike. Two new screenshots of the Mass Effect 2 DLC are now available on Bioware’s Facebook page. While the company has yet to confirm the DLC, all signs point to an upcoming release.

The T-mobile Sidekick lives on thanks to Android and Samsung. T-mobile made the Sidekick 4G official this morning and confirmed a 2011 release. Unfortunately the pivoting screen is gone in favor of an articulating display, but this isn’t stopping us from wanting one. The iPad 2 is a bonafide hit in the US, the tablet is now listed as shipping in 4 to 5 weeks from Apple’s website. Local retailers are receiving additional shipments this week, but units are selling out within hours. Will this delay the international release?

Last up this morning is an update to the Google Mobile app. Google has renamed the app Google Search and hopes the new features will help iOS catch up to Android smartphones. The app is free so we suggest heading to the iTunes store now to grab your copy. That wraps up the morning in tech news. As always I’m Nick Marshall and I’ll see you again tomorrow.
