Now that Guitar Hero is out of the picture, it’s time for a new challenger to enter the ring and do battle with Rock Band. Introducing Ubisoft’s Rocksmith, a music gaming experience which uses real instruments and has one goal — teach you to play a “real” guitar. Simply connect your guitar to your Xbox 360 or PS3 using the standard ¼ inch jack and rock out.
Rocksmith is the “first and only game where you can plug into any real guitar”. Worried that a beginner can’t hang on a real guitar? Don’t fret, gameplay is adapted to your personal skill level, allowing you to progress from single notes to complex chords. there’s four difficulty modes to choose from which adjust real-time and before you begin gameplay you can choose between rhythm or lead guitar.
For now the official song list is still being worked out, but Ubisoft has assured us the song list will “capture a wide range of music”. Also, multiplayer will be good to go at launch.
