We7, the online jukebox radio service, is making its first foray into the app world. It hits the Android Market today, and will be arriving on the Apple App Store in a month. The we7 app fits somewhere in between Last.fm and Spotify, but with more available for free. Read on for more info.
The we7 app lets you use some of its services for free, with ads. You can set a radio station, say Kings of Leon radio, and listen to all that we7 puts in that line up, but you can’t go backwards to replay a track (although you can skip forwards).
The we7 app works offline, so without a connection up to ten of your stations are saved. When you’re connected, we7 builds up the playlists and adds tracks while you have a connection. Once the playlist stations are built up to the maximum number of tracks you’ll end up with around five hours of offline music.
For £10 per month you can pay to have more control, which means access to 7 million we7 on-demand listening, and no more annoying ads. The good news is that if you sign up early, the free version will be ad free for the near future, until we7 ramps up its user base.
Will you hit we7 over Spotify or Last.fm? Shout out in the comments!
