Which tablets has it been bested by? That you can actually buy, in the UK, today? Genuinely intrigued to know (By the way, I am an enormous Android fan).

I'd also quite like to draw a line in the sand between 7 and 10-inch tablets. They sound similar, but in reality one is twice the size of the other, so you can't always compare a Galaxy Tab to an iPad. That said, we don't know many people who have the money for both (or either), so having to choose between them is still a valid comparison.

I disagree completely. Content is king, and Apple tablets have better content than most Android tablets available now because most Android tablets available now don't have Android Market. This is a big deal for consumers.

And to compare similar specs: the only thing available that comes close right now is the Galaxy Tab, and that costs an arm and a leg, is 7", and runs Froyo. I think the iPad is better than the Tab.

Android tablets that have been announced but aren't available yet could change this, but they've not hit the market yet. Therefore right now the original iPad is the best deal, because of the price, specs and content. Not because "it's got an Apple logo on it".

It already is superseeded by most decent tablets out there… And why would someone use $499 price – convert it to £ and still consider this as a better deal than a tablet already available and costing £250 in the UK?

and is a darn sight cheaper than the next gen of Android tablet.
Well – no… it isn't … comparing 16GB, WiFi only tablet with shit specs to highend tablets is wrong in the first place… compare similar spec to similar spec and you will see that you get more with android devices…

Why do I even write this? You will soon use the killer-argument…
It's got an apple logo on it…

Got my price match for my 32gb ipad that I got on the 26th Feb, and the woman in Currys nearly Died when she found out the refund was for £122.10, Plus they had to give me 10% more as thats the offer…She said Apple would Pull them from sale cause they cannot afford to sell them that cheap. but its Apple that lowered the Price, Muppet..You just cannot get the staff

Does the android support proxy settings yet? If not then users might have problems using there wifi in a Uni or Corporate environment.
