To launch Kirby’s Epic Yarn Nintendo set up what sounded like an exciting event in one of the grimmest areas of London: Elephant and Castle. The press invite read: “For one day only Elephant and Castle will be decked out in a colourful array of knitting to bring the feel-good vibe of Kirby’s Epic Yarn and replace grey with colour.”

Sadly, that was completely misleading, and Kirby’s Epic Yarn was more like Kirby’s Epic Yawn, with little more than some oppressively ratty woolen toys on a drab concrete bench near a bus stop. After being in public beta for a while, Apple has released the full version of FaceTime for Mac in the Mac App Store. This is ahead of the MacBook Pro announcement that we’re expecting later today. The good news is that the FaceTime app for Mac will set you back just 59p. Bargain!

The FaceTime app for Mac lets you make and receive HD video calls at 720p (if you’ve got a compatible Mac), and incoming calls ping up even if FaceTime isn’t running, and you can use your existing address book.
