O2 is teaming up with Mi-pay to automate your mobile top ups. This means you’ll be able to set an automatic top up through your credit or debit card, and you don’t have to spend a fortune either. Log in through O2, and you’ll be able to set your mobile top up to drop however much you want into your PAYG account on a weekly or monthly basis.

Jonathan Earle, Head of Consumer at O2, said: “We know our Pay & Go customers want to stay connected to their friends and family. This service allows our customers to keep control of their spending but with confidence that they won’t run out of call credit.”

This is not the same 1984 Apple ad that we covered a while back, that was directed by Ridley Scott. No siree, this is a much jollier affair, with Apple promising to tidy up your desk, soundtracked by a bastardised version of “What a Feelin’!” For the full video of Friday’s archive dig, click through.

Inception 3D: incoming!

Filmmaker Jonathan Liebesman has let slip that Inception is being converted to 3D. That’s right, Inception. In 3D. While we’re often not overly enthused about 3D projects here at Electricpig, this one sounds like it could really work. Imagine the scene where the city folds in on itself in 3D. Epic no?

Motorola Xoom rooted already

The Motorola Xoom has just hit the shelves in the US and it’s already been rooted. Koush got hold of a Motorola Xoom and put his own ClockworkMod recovery image and ROM manager on the device, snaffling up superuser permissions and opening up the door for custom builds of Android.

Motorola won’t be surprised though, its Android Honeycomb tablet has an unlockable bootloader. We can’t wait to see what Motorola Xoom hacks and mods we get now.

Hurrah! More Halo: Reach DLC is hitting planet Earth on March 15. The Defiant Map Pack will come with two new versus maps (Condemned and Highlands) and one Firefight map (Unearthed). The new maps have been made by Certain Affinity and 343 Industries.

Condemned is set in an orbital space station overlooking reach while the Covenant attacks it. It sounds frankly awesome. The new Halo: Reach DLC will set you back 800 MS points when it arrives and earn you an extra 150 Achievement points as part of the deal. See our original Halo: Reach review here.

The HP TouchPad and HP Pre 3 are rolling with a tough crew which includes Dr. Dre.

Yes that Dr. Dre. After Snoop Dogg turned himself into Snoop Dogggg yesterday at the behest of a 4G phone promotion, Dr. Dre has stuffed his latest video with HP kit. The promo for I Need a Doctor features Eminem, a messed up Ferrari 360 Modena and Skylar Grey but what we noticed most? The HP TouchPad and Pre 3 doing their Touch to Share schtick. Dr. Dre putting the HP into hip hop. Click through to see the video…
