Batman Arkham City: no multiplayer

Perhaps not a massive surprise but Batman: Arkham City will not have multiplayer. The web rumours had suggested it would offer some kind of add-on to the singleplayer story but Rocksteady Studios has slapped that down.

Game director Sefton Hill told IGN:

“With the game now coming to the final stages, I can honestly say it would not have been possible to deliver Arkham City the way we wanted to if we’d have added multiplayer…we hope that gamers will agree when they get to play the finished game, that we have made the right decision.” Let us know: do you agree??

Intel unveils MeeGo tablet UI

Nokia might have shoved MeeGo on the back burner, but it seems Intel just isn’t willing to let the open source OS fade into the background. It’s pulled the wrappers off of a new tablet-centric UI for the OS at Mobile World Congress, giving hope to those desperate to see the next-gen operating system live on.

The much-anticipated Assassin’s Creed 4 will be outed in May. Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood has clocked up 6.5m units shipped and there’s more to come!

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that the sequel is just months away from being detailed: “We will have an Assassin’s Creed this year. We are going to give you more details in May.” So the question just remains: where in the world and what point in time will Assassin’s Creed be set in? We’ve just got an eyeful of Windows Phone 7 being used as a Kinect controller at MWC 2011. The demo showed a block-breaker game, where the object is to jump around batting balls away, being controlled by two people using Windows Phone 7 devices.
