We already have a few IM apps in our best iPhone apps library but imo should make a good addition to your armoury. Unlike lots of other IM apps which have tussled for a place in our best iPhone apps selection, imo doesn’t ask you to sign up for a new account, instead it lets you hook together existing logins for MSN, Skype, AIM/AOL, Yahoo, Google Talk, Facebook, Jabber and MySpace chat services.

7digital, one of the three of biggest music download services along with Amazon and iTunes, is upgrading its apps. If you’re running Android you’ll now get scrobbling to Last.fm (making it easier for you to knock Lady Gaga off your top spot perhaps?) and 7digital is also adding support for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and BlackBerry 9780.

There’s also a nifty new HTML5 mobile page, which means you can stream full tracks through the mobile site, instead of having to go through an app.
