Dell’s plans for a pair of new Android Ice Cream phones have found themselves unceremoniously dumped online, after the PC giant’s smartphone roadmap was leaked. The hilariously-monikered Dell Hancock and the positively 2000-sounding Dell Millennium both promise to pack in the next-gen version of Google’s OS, as well as some truly stellar specs.
The Dell Hancock and Dell Millennium will each come loaded with Ice Cream, as well as dual core processors, 1080p video recording skills and an 8 megapixel snapper. The Hancock’s screen will come in at 4-inches, while the Millennium’s will stretch to 4.3-inches.
The roadmap suggests the Dell Hancock will land in Q4 of 2011, while the Millennium will slip into Q1 of 2012. And that’s not all. The brilliantly-named Dell Wrigley is also mentioned, promising ‘next-gen’ Windows Phone 7 alongside a dual-core processor, slide out QWERTY and 4-inch screen.
A separate tablet roadmap also points to a new Dell Streak 7 coming soon, as well as a mooted April release for the Dell Streak 10. But what’s really fascinating is the Dell Peju, a Windows 8 slate, pegged for January 2012. Expect to see that in Steve Ballmer’s clammy palms during his CES 2012 keynote. Add in tow more Honeycomb slates, the Silver Oak and Opus One, and Dell looks like it’ll kicking everyone’s backside over the next twelve months.
