MobileMe is still struggling to compete with Google’s free suite of killer cloud services. But things are all set to change if one inside source is to be believed. See, Apple is scheming over a complete redesign of its cloud-based offering, with a ‘dynamic homepage’ that’ll pull in content direct from your iOS-packing gadgets. Intrigued? Dive in and we’ll explain everything.

The guys at Cult of Mac have got the scoop on the MobileMe redesign. They’ve spoken to a trusted source, who’s told them Apple is working on a new version of the ailing service which will automatically draw in info from your iPhone or iPad. Your MobileMe homepage will have info on what tunes you’re listening to, where you are, your latest snaps and even stream live video if you wish.

You’ll be able to choose whether your iOS device fires over all this data automatically, with the chance to choose what you share manually too. Your MobileMe homepage can be set to public, or made private and only viewable by selected pals.

In a further twist, Apple is planning a Facebook Places rival to sit at the heart of MobileMe. Called Tokens, it’ll let you leave reviews and snaps of places for others to see when they look up a venue, bar or restaurant.

What do you make of Apple’s MobileMe plans? Hit up the comments now and let us know aht you think.

Sounds good to me. Currently use Mobileme, but subs run out in June. Would like to see what they have up their sleeve before I shell out again :-)
