What do we have here? We just slapped eyes on the Toshiba UL and Toshiba SL series TVs, two unannounced LED TVs that’ll be the first to run Toshiba’s media centre software, Toshiba Places, in the UK. Toshiba’s keeping most of the specs close to its chest until IPTV content partners are signed on, but we know they’re both 1080p 100Hz models with Wi-Fi and DLNA-certified, with Freeview HD tuners.
We’re particularly taken by the Toshiba UL TV’s silver and black finish, but the important thing is Toshiba’s cloud based Places service, which should give Samsung’s TV Apps service a run for its money. We’ll have a preview of Toshiba Places for you shortly, but expect these two to go on sale in May in a range of sizes.
